Rude Folks

Occasionally, some of the comments on blogs shown on Deafread "make my stomach hurt". I am sometimes ashamed of my fellow deafies and often wonder just where they are coming from and what makes them feel and act as they do.

I am speaking of those (you know who you are!) who make rude comments, mostly to the bloggers who are a little "different", possibly of another race, or those who are multiple handicapped. This behavior is typical of "the pecking order", which is practiced by some, including ANIMALS.

You "peckers" are not gaining anyone's respect and just might lose your priveledge of being "anonymous". WE know that you actually feel inferior and are only trying to make yourselves feel better.

I am ashamed of you.

  3. Thank you for expressing your feeling. I have same problems. I don't understand why some anonymous treat us. They are ignorant. They don't know what else to talk about it. I am with you!

  5. Funny to see Toby on this thread, he has been extremely rude to another person recently.

Ah well. I can appreciate the irony. I do think the rudeness and hateful commentary are entirely wrong and perhaps someday all of us will actually practice what we preach.

  6. I am with you completely! People are entitled to share their opinions but rudeness and insulting are unjustified.
Whenever I read the blogs or vlogs that I don't agree with their statement, I would just close it quietly. People should do the same thing instead of typing rude statement in childish way.

  7. Cheer to ya! I must say I agree with you! Of course I got some rude comments from anyonymous BUT it won't stop me from keeping vlogging and blogging!

Anonymous (Like Lantana say, you know who you are!) who make rude comments, WHY bother to check DeafRead or any of Deaf blogger's blog if you really disagree with. You are WASTE of your time! You won't get your own better self-esteem if you don't give respect to anyone. If you don't like our Deaf blog or idea, SIMPLE leave without leave comments! It isn't hard than you think.

Lantana, I really appreciate you made post about that. Rest of anonymous need to know about how Deaf community feel about that. (Hand waving!) Big Mahalo!

  8. I agree. What do we do with rude Deaf bloggers? What do we do when the horrifically rude comments come from the blogger himself? Ricky Ridor certainly uses vile language to reply to the comments he receives. I think HE sets the tone for some young folks who read the blogs.

  9. People choose strange role models, don't they? Don't these people realize that what goes around, comes around? Their turn will come.

You can get more from honey than from vinegar.

I appreciate all of the supportive posts, I think we have made a point!

  10. Thank you for expressing your feeling to us. I'm in a same boat with you. I hate it when the deaf people are being insulted, assaulted or criticised from comments and blogs. These people are ignorant. My heart sank when I "read" the vlog about the bloggers being criticised for putting many or too many pictures on their blogs with no designs. I don't think I would do my v/blog thru deafread.

  11. There is an adage as follows:

    1. Small minds attack, criticise
    or talk about people.

    2. Great minds do not attack,
    criticise, or talk about
    people; rather, they discuss or
    attack ideas.
