Aaaarrrgh! It has been over a month since my last blog post. Where has the time gone??
Meanwhile I have been preoccupied with many things. DH was taken to Emergency by ambulance twice in one week. His vitals were all good, so he was sent home with a questionmark. Did I tell you that I am married to a hypochondriac? Geeze Louise, at my husband's age, who will know when his complaints are The Real McCoy??
I was pleasantly surprised when I found that one of the Medics on the ambulance knew Sign Language. How nice for me and I complimented him. He responded with his opinion that it goes with the territory. Good for him!
I recently had my left eye operated on for cataracts. The right eye has already been done (twice). This project was uneventful, but I did enjoy having the same interpreter for each and every appointment. 'Seems like they are weeding them out, the terps who enjoy the medical calls are called rather than those who are indifferent to hospital and doctor's office situations. My terp even suited up and went into the operating room with me. I keep wanting to say "delivery room". Gee,that was a long time ago, why is it stuck in my memory??
My husband was under the weather, so I drove myself to the city where the appointments were to take place. Back and forth between 2 states! I went by taxicab, which gave excellent service and showed a caring attitude. In the end, tho I had to call DH and have him come and get me because I felt that it was too soon to be driving myself home -- my glasses no longer fit, etc. Sigh, I thought getting old was supposed to be easier?
Finally we are having some sunshine, so today I got out into the yard, where I found out that I cannot "take it" like I used to. Or perhaps I need to give my body time to "warm up"??
We just had our kitchen cabinets "refaced". WHAT A MESS! Never again. Dust on everything, I mean SERIOUS DUST. We are also getting new counter tops and a new French Door for our front deck, so I am not going to "deep clean" until that is over.
I think my face got sunburned today. I was working in the front yard and that faces West, so figures. I hope I don't find any additional wrinkles in the morning. I should sleep well tonight, after a hot shower and a peek at Faux News!
Until next time.
