Over a month has gone by since I last wrote in my blog! 'Lots and lots of paperwork, doing the chores of 2 people, and taking good care of myself, while preserving the memory of my husband, Joe who passed away on June 2nd of this year. Joe and I learned a great deal from one another, and I, as the survivor am the lucky one because I get to continue to use my (our) knowledge!
In his Will, Joe directed our lawyer to assist me, and to be paid by Joe's own estate. This lawyer, having both an Oregon and Washington license has been such a huge asset. Correction: His Paralegal has been the asset, the lawyer comes and goes and his magic words are pure gold, ( at Joe's expense).
The 1980 Corvette has been sold. I sign the title over tomorrow. The Realtor assures me that she has received many calls asking about the farm, but (obviously) many of the calls were from nosey neighbors. Our Funny Farm is an unique property and not something a bank would consider financing (particularly during today's ditzy market), this special SOMEONE who purchases the amazing property that Joe and I created will need to have some cash in his pocket. But it will be worth it for them. It is a genuine lovenest, trust me.
Right now I am not certain what my plans are. I may move back to Washington State and kiss The Oregon Coast goodbye. Or I will become a a bonafide Oregonian and stay here in this Seaside home until the big Tsunami takes me out and adds me to the Pacific Ocean foodchain. I am going by my vibes and taking one day at a time.
Meanwhile I have been enjoying our annual and traditional (and famous) Indian Summer. Such amazing sunsets, and I love the warm days and the cool nights where you almost have to turn on your electric blanket. My health is good, I am mentally stable, and my family has been extremely supportive. I live in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. What else is there?
Yours, Lantana

Goodness indeed for selling Corvette already sold.
ReplyDeleteKeep you busy and good things about Corvett of 1980. Funny I stepped out of high school in 1980. It's almost kind of Thirty years ago.
Of course, you can think about moving to Washington State. Not very far from Oregon. I would think if something happened changed plans. if I am getting older and can arranagment for advance.
Recently I return to Seattle two days ago from Oregon with a family emergency.
My mother is elderly 81 yr old and she recently broken her arm and forgot to use walker with her. MAX railroad where she was fell down and about two week later. Her blood pressure were too low.. and was deleivered to hospital from doctor office. She is now fine.. she just release today. Everything is ok.
Hey Lantana!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back on blogging! We missed you dearly.
I'm still waiting for your answer on texting, he he. You told me that you are moving to Longview and I asked why there? I'm very curious! You have family in Longview? We usually drive past Longview all the time between Portland and Seattle.
Sorry that you have to put up with all craps that you have to go through dealing with selling and whatnot. Hopefully everything will be over before you know it and you can finally settle in.
Hugs!!!

I am sorry to hear about yur mother, Deaf Pixie, I know what a shock it can be when your parents begin to go downhill. Very frightening!
ReplyDeleteGeo, Longview is hard to miss if you travel up and down that freeway, it is a nice town, really. Actually is was a planned city, one of the few that was drawn up on a board and prodecures followed. I am considering Longview because that is where my Health Care is. AND my oldest son is Chief Fiscal Officer of the Longview School District. Actually, his title is: Executive Director, Finance and Technology. So he would always be there for me. I am not pushing anything. Actually I am more inclined to become an Oregon resident and remain in my Seaside home. It will take me awhile to consider my options. This is my home and I hate to start all over again somewhere else. It is difficult to leave a comfortable niche'. Thank you for caring and let me know whenever you will be back in the area. Hugs, Lantana
I will not desrespect you for sleeping under a bridge!
